Barton burgled during son's party?

Joey Barton was reportedly targeted by burglars while he was celebrating his son's first birthday in Liverpool.

The 30-year-old, who is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille from Queens Park Rangers, returned to his Merseyside hometown to throw a zoo-themed party for his one-year old son Cassius.

It is believed that burglars smashed the window of his partner's mum's house in West Derby, where Barton and his family had been staying for Christmas, according to the The Sun.

Reports have claimed that the home, owned by Denise McNeil, was robbed when the burglars noticed via Barton's Twitter page that he was elsewhere for his son's party.
