Adil Rami accused of 'sexist online post'

Marseille defender Adil Rami has been accused of sexism after criticising his own club on social media.

The 32-year-old, who recently announced his retirement from international duty with France, joined l'OM last year after two seasons with La Liga outfit Sevilla.

Marseille played Sevilla's city rivals Real Betis in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday and ahead of the encounter, the club's official account tweeted: "It is a pleasure to be playing the best team in Sevilla."

Rami then posted a screengrab of the tweet on his Instagram story alongside the caption: "Excuse me, who wrote that? It's a matter of kindness, but it's totally false. Surely a woman has written it."

During his time at Sevilla, Rami made 79 appearances in all competitions and helped them to the Europa League title.
