Roy Keane not guilty of 'road rage'

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has been cleared of aggressively confronting a taxi driver in an alleged road rage row.

The 43-year-old denied the public order offence made against him by cabbie Fateh Kerar, 44, at Manchester Magistrates' Court today.

District Judge Duncan Birrell cleared Keane of the incident, saying that the case against him was "riven with inconsistencies".

Kerar had claimed that Keane swore and stared at him while the two were parked in their cars on January 30 of this year in Altrincham, Cheshire.

Keane is currently the assistant manager to Martin O'Neill with the Republic of Ireland national team.
