Manchester United's Marcos Rojo 'cleared of bottle attack'

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo reportedly escapes a jail term for allegedly attacking two men with a bottle after a private settlement was made.

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has been cleared of attacking his neighbour with a bottle after agreeing an out-of-court settlement.

The 24-year-old could have been given a one-year prison term if found guilty of wounding two men whom he allegedly struck back on November 7, 2010 in his home city of La Plata, Argentina.

According to The Mirror, a defence lawyer representing the two victims revealed that a request has been put forward for Rojo to escape punishment after a "private" pact was made.

Reports have claimed that the two men involved have signed a confidentiality agreement stopping them from speaking publicly about the settlement.
