Borussia Dortmund fans launch 'free Shinji' online campaign

Borussia Dortmund fans create a 'free Shinji Kagawa' campaign on Twitter, hitting out at Manchester United for keeping the midfielder on the bench.

A hoard of Borussia Dortmund supporters have created a campaign on Twitter attempting to convince the club to re-sign Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

The Japan international played no part in United's goalless draw with Chelsea last night, prompting Dortmund fans to launch the online movement.

The hashtag #freeshinji spread on the social networking website, with a mocked up image of the 24-year-old standing behind prison bars, according to 101greatgoals.com.

Kagawa signed for the Red Devils from the Bundesliga last summer.
