A group of Manchester City supporters reportedly raise money to place an advert in an Italian paper thanking former boss Roberto Mancini.

A number of Manchester City supporters have reportedly raised funds to put an advert in an Italian sports newspaper as a thank-you gesture to former manager Roberto Mancini.

A hoard of fans were disappointed at the dismissal of Mancini, who placed a full-page advert in the Manchester Evening News expressing his gratitude towards the City supporters.

In return, over 700 fans managed to accumulate £7,000 in four days to create a 'Grazie Mancini' ad in Gazetta dello Sport, according to BBC Sport.

The Italian boss was sacked a year to the day that he guided City to Premier League glory for the first time in 44 years.
