Liverpool fan Axel Gogstad changed name to Anfield when 18

A Liverpool fan reveals that he legally changed his name to include "Anfield" as a tribute to the club when he was 18.

Norwegian Liverpool supporter Axel Gogstad has revealed that he changed his name to Anfield when he was 18 years old.

The now 27-year-old, who studies sports journalism in Southampton, legally goes by the name of Axel Gogstad-Anfield.

"I changed my name to Anfield when I turned 18, I've had it for nine years now," Axel told the club's official website. "It was quite a spontaneous thing, really.

"I've always been proud of my name but I thought if I put 'Anfield' to it I'd be even more proud of it and I can carry Liverpool wherever I'm going."

The Reds fan also claimed that he gets "stick" from Manchester United fans for his name change.
