Bendtner apologises over drink-driving arrest

Nicklas Bendtner has apologised to his friends and fans following a drink-driving incident in Denmark.

Bt.dk has reported that the Juventus striker, who is on loan from Arsenal, was arrested last night for failing a breath test after driving the wrong way up a main road in Copenhagen.

The 25-year-old tweeted: "Dear friends, I was booked for a mild case of drink-driving last night.

"It was a [quiet night] but I am very very sorry to all my friends and fans. It is not ok to drink and drive. I take full responsibility."

Bendtner is expected to be sidelined through injury until the end of this month.
