Ex-Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou denies damaging Berlin Wall

Hertha Berlin striker Salomon Kalou denies reports that he damaged a section of the Berlin Wall while filming for a TV station.

Former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has rubbished reports that he damaged a section of the Berlin Wall while filming for a German TV station.

The 29-year-old, who now plays for Hertha Berlin, was alleged to have taken a hammer and chisel to the historic wall as part of a TV preview for his side's match against Schalke 04.

However, the footballer himself has spoken out and has revealed that the club's lawyers are taking action against German tabloid Berliner Kurier.

Kalou tweeted: "There is absolutely no truth to this story."

A fine of around €10,000 (£7,183) could be issued to anyone who defaces the Berlin Wall.
