Grimsby Town fan found guilty of assaulting Barnet steward with inflatable shark

Kenneth Meech, a 51-year-old Grimsby Town fan, is found guilty of common assault after hitting a Barnet steward with an inflatable shark.

A Grimsby Town fan has been found guilty of assaulting a football steward with an inflatable shark.

Kenneth Meech watched his club win 3-1 at Barnet in a Conference game in February this year, before hitting Cgagi Gladyng with the item as he celebrated the victory.

The 51-year-old, tried at Willesden Magistrates Court, was found guilty of common assault and handed a conditional discharge.

Meech previously said that he and other Mariners fans had taken inflatable objects to the game "in support" of Bryan Winship, a fan who was ejected in an apparent headlock at Forest Green Rovers in a row over an inflatable football.
