Gremio fans injured by collapsing fence in Libertadores Cup match

Eight Gremio supporters are reportedly injured when a fence collapsed during their side's Libertadores Cup clash in Brazil.

A number of Gremio supporters have been injured by a collapsing fence after a celebration went wrong.

A hoard of fans carried out the traditional Brazilian 'avalanche' celebration, which involves fans running down the terraces towards the front, when Elano netted for the hosts during the clash against Liga de Quito.

The celebration resulted in one of the fences behind the goal giving way and it is believed that eight people were injured but none were seriously harmed, according to the Daily Mail.

The incident took place in Arena Gremio, which was only recently completed.
