Gary Lineker says that he is "delighted" by the news that the BBC will broadcast the FA Cup from the 2014-15 season.

Former England footballer and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has expressed his 'delight' in the news that the BBC has acquired the rights to air the FA Cup from the start of the 2014-15 season.

It was announced this morning that the BBC and BT Sport had signed a four-year deal to broadcast the cup competition.

Lineker wrote on Twitter: "Delighted to announce that the oldest, most famous and loved domestic cup competition in the world, the FA Cup is back on the BBC."

The rights have been shared between ITV, Setanta and ESPN over the past five years.
