Report: Romelu Lukaku facing Kick It Out axe

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku could be forced to step down as an ambassador for English football's anti-discrimination organisation Kick It Out, according to a report.

The Telegraph claims that the Belgium international, who is on loan at Everton for this season, has landed himself in hot water for supporting West Bromwich Albion forward Nicolas Anelka over his anti-Semitic 'quenelle' gesture.

In a video interview earlier this week, Lukaku claimed that his "idol" Anelka "should never be banned" for the gesture as "he was just supporting a stand-up comedian (Dieudonne M'bala M'bala)".

It has now been reported that Kick It Out could ask the 20-year-old to stand down from his position less than three months after he was named as an ambassador for them unless he retracts his views on the subject.

The English FA has charged Anelka and could ban him for at least five matches.
