Chris Robshaw's girlfriend opts against singing national anthem at World Cup

Robshaw's girlfriend opts against performing

The girlfriend of England rugby captain Chris Robshaw has opted against singing the national anthem at the World Cup this September.

Soprano Camilla Kerslake, who celebrated her 27th birthday at the weekend, has claimed that she does not want to distract her partner by agreeing to perform 'God Save The Queen'.

"I've made the decision not to sing, but I will be supporting my country from the sidelines," Kerslake told the Daily Mail. "I know whoever sings will do the country proud, but for me I want my partner not to be worrying about how I feel ahead of my performance.

"Rather, I want him and the boys focused on what is most important, and that is playing the best possible game they can."

The tournament will get underway on UK shores on September 18.
