Report: Stuart Broad misses sponsors event after drinking session

Stuart Broad fails to attend a sponsors event ahead of England's series against New Zealand after a night out with Matt Prior and Andrew Flintoff, according to reports.

England fast bowler Stuart Broad has reportedly missed a sponsors engagement after a mammoth drinking session.

England will play two Test matches and five one-day internationals against New Zealand over the next six weeks, and a sponsors event was arranged to launch the series.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Broad didn't attend as planned, and had been drinking with former teammates Matt Prior and Andrew Flintoff the night before.

The 28-year-old reportedly didn't return to his hotel until 7am the following morning, leaving batsman Ian Bell to attend alone.

Broad has taken 274 wickets in 77 Test matches.
