Three more England fans jailed for involvement in Marseille violence at Euro 2016

Three more England fans are jailed for their involvement in the violent scenes in Marseille at Euro 2016.

Three more England supporters have been jailed for their involvement in the violence that erupted in Marseille during the opening weekend of Euro 2016.

A French court has sentenced Lee Phillips, 23, and Paul Jackson, 21, for one month, while Ashley Kelly, 26, has been handed a three-month sentence behind bars.

The news comes a matter of hours after two England fans Alexander Booth, 20, and 41-year-old psychiatric nurse Ian Hepworth were jailed for two and three months respectively.

Over the weekend, groups of England fans clashed with police, Russia supporters and local youths, while scuffles were also thought to have broken out between Ukraine and Germany on Sunday.

On the final whistle of the 1-1 draw at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday, Russian fans could be seen charging into a section of England supporters.

UEFA has threatened to expel England and Russia from the tournament if the violence continues.
