Sir Ian Botham is reportedly targeted on Twitter for making a 'sexist' remark while commentating on the fourth Ashes Test.

Sir Ian Botham has reportedly faced a hoard of criticism for making a remark, deemed by some to be sexist.

The former England cricketer was commentating on the fourth Ashes Test in Durham when he said: "So if you've just got in, if you were dragged to the supermarket by the wife, here are the wickets."

Following his remark, the 57-year-old was the subject of angry messages on Twitter, with one user airing their complaint to Sky Sports directly, according to the Daily Star.

Botham has been working as part of Sky's Ashes coverage between England and Australia.
