England Women's Steph Houghton: 'Having women's football on 'FIFA 16' is huge'

Houghton: ''FIFA 16' huge for women's football'

Manchester City and England Women's star Steph Houghton has claimed that the inclusion of women's football in video game FIFA 16 is a big step forward.

For the first time in the EA Sports game's 20-year history, women footballers feature in the latest iteration.

The game includes 12 international teams, including England, Germany, Brazil and World Cup winners USA.

"This is a huge moment for women's football," the Daily Mail quotes Houghton as saying. "FIFA's always been a really big part of my life growing up and to see that my England teammates and I have been immortalised as avatars in the world's biggest football game is fantastic."

Houghton was joined by fellow footballers Lucy Bronze, Toni Duggan, Karen Bardsley and Jill Scott during a launch of the game at the Etihad Stadium.
