Chelsea's Eden Hazard denies signing pro-Palestine petition

Hazard denies signing petition

The agent of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has been forced to deny that the Belgium international has signed a pro-Palestine petition.

The 21-year-old was alleged to have put his name to a petition attempting to stop Israel from hosting the European Under-21 Championship next year.

Following complaints from a number of Chelsea supporters, Hazard's agent John Bico told the Daily Mail: "Eden never speaks about his political opinions and he certainly never signed anything."

The petition is believed to state that if Israel hosted the tournament it would be 'seen as a reward for actions that are contrary to sporting values'.
