Fabregas hit with six-month driving ban

Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas has been issued with a six-month driving ban after admitting to speeding at 110mph in Surrey.

The Spaniard was spotted breaking the 50mph limit by officer PC John Kelly, who was holding a speed camera on the northbound Esher bypass.

Fabregas, who was not present at Guildford Magistrates' Court on Friday morning, pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit in contravention of a local traffic order.

According to Get Surrey, the former Arsenal and Barcelona star was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay additional court costs of £625, as well as £840 to the camera examiner and a £100 victim surcharge.

On the pitch, Fabregas's club Chelsea has had a torrid start to the Premier League season having won just two of their eight games.
