Chelsea 'to leave Stamford Bridge home for two years'

A report claims that Premier League champions Chelsea may have to find a new temporary home, should they get the green light to redevelop Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea face the prospect of playing their home matches elsewhere for at least two seasons should they get the go-ahead to redevelop Stamford Bridge, according to a report.

The Blues are expected to reveal proposals to locals outlining their plans to turn the West London ground into a 60,000-seater venue later this month.

Although it could still be a long way off, The Guardian claims that the £500m project will force Chelsea to find a new temporary home, with nearby Twickenham and Wembley both viable options.

Chelsea, who lifted last year's Premier League title, have played at Stamford Bridge for the past 110 years.
