Sony secures new three-year Champions League sponsorship deal

Sony Mobile and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe agree a three-year sponsorship deal with UEFA to become official partners of the Champions League.

Sony Mobile and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have sealed a new three-year sponsorship deal with the UEFA Champions League.

The companies will be the official partners of the elite European competition from next season to 2018.

PlayStation has been linked with UEFA for some time, but the partnership now extends to Sony Xperia.

UEFA events SA marketing director Guy-Laurent Epstein said: "We are very pleased that Sony has extended its sponsorship as we will continue to work closely with PlayStation but we now also welcome Sony Xperia into the partnership.

"This will enable ground-breaking entertainment to bring excitement to fans around the world through the UEFA Champions League relationship."

The partnership also includes the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Super Cup, as well as the Women's Champions League final and Youth League finals.
