Stokes's trial for 'assaulting' Elvis impersonator delayed

The trial of Celtic striker Anthony Stokes for allegedly assaulting an Elvis impersonator has been delayed.

Proceedings were due to go ahead regarding the alleged incident, which occurred during a night out in Dublin on June 8, 2013.

According to ITV news, Judge Patricia Ryan told Dublin's Circuit Criminal that she will bring up the case again on May 12, but claimed that there is no guarantee that it will go ahead then.

Stokes, who was present at the hearing, was charged with assault causing harm in March last year in relation to an incident involving 42-year-old Anthony Bradley.

Stokes has been remanded on bail since last year.
