Castleford Tigers star Rangi Chase has revealed that he has given up drinking following an off-field incident last year.

The 26-year-old was suspended for breaching the club's rules by going to a nightclub with friends the day before a match in June.

"I plan never to drink again," The Sun. "I grew up having problems with drink. It's always got me into trouble so I had to grow up a bit. I'm kind of glad it all happened because it was what I needed, a reality check."

The Kiwi-born player was forced to sit on the sidelines for three weeks.
