Vincent Kompany "horrified" by Brussels attacks

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany describes himself as "horrified and revolted" by the attacks carried out in Brussels that have killed at least 26 people.

Belgium captain Vincent Kompany has said that he is "horrified and revolted" by the attacks carried out in Brussels this morning.

At least 26 people have been killed following co-ordinated attacks in the Belgian capital, with two blasts at Zaventem airport and another in Maelbeek metro station.

Kompany took to Twitter to address the incident, calling on his compatriots to "act with dignity" in the wake of the atrocities.

"Horrified and revolted. Innocent people paying the price again. My thoughts are with the families of the victims," he wrote.

"I wish for Brussels to act with dignity. We are all hurting, yet we must reject hate and its preachers. As hard as it may be."

The Belgian national team have cancelled the training session planned for today following the attacks.
