Aston Villa reach out to Marc Albrighton after girlfriend's mother dies in Tunisia

Villa reach out to Albrighton following Tunisia attacks

Aston Villa have revealed that they are in "regular contact" with Marc Albrighton and his family after the mother of his girlfriend was killed in the terrorist attack in Tunisia last Friday.

Albrighton, who spent five years playing for Villa before joining Leicester City in 2014, discovered at the weekend that his girlfriend Chloe Fulford's mother Sue Davey and partner Scott Chalkey were among the 38 people who were killed.

Holidaymakers, 25 of whom were Brits, were shot dead by a gunman who was later killed by police, while sunbathing on a beach near Sousse.

This morning, Villa tweeted: "We have been in regular contact with @RealMarc12's family to offer our deepest condolences concerning their devastating loss in #Tunisia.

"Villa Park will fall silent on Friday at noon in memory of those affected by the #Tunisia tragedy, including the family of @RealMarc12."

The minute's silence will be observed across the UK.
