Theo Walcott announces wife Melanie Slade expecting couple's first child

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has announced that his wife Melanie Slade is pregnant with the couple's first child.

The England international married Slade in a ceremony at the Castello di Vincigliata in Tuscany in June.

The player's representatives revealed the news on Twitter, with a statement saying: "We are both very excited at such happy news just a few months after getting married. We are really looking forward to becoming parents."

The couple have been in a relationship for nine years.
