Met Police 'looking into' video of Arsenal fans' homophobic Ashley Cole chants

Metropolitan Police are reportedly looking into footage apparently showing a group of Arsenal fans singing homophobic chants about Ashley Cole.

Metropolitan Police are reportedly investigating footage of Arsenal supporters apparently chanting homophobic slurs about Ashley Cole.

The clip, which has since been removed from social media, is believed to have been filmed at the Green Man pub in Wembley prior to the Gunners' 2-1 win over Reading in last weekend's FA Cup semi-final.

In the video, a group of fans allegedly replace the words of Lily Allen's tune 'Smile' to create a homophobic chant aimed at Cole, who left Arsenal to sign for Chelsea in 2006.

A Met spokesman told the Daily Mail: "Police are aware of the video currently circulation on social media. The content is currently being assessed. Officers are in the process of contacting relevant parties. No arrests have been made."

Cole now plies his trade for Roma following his Chelsea departure last year.
