Lukas Podolski bakes birthday cake for Jack Wilshere

Jack Wilshere has thanked Arsenal teammate Lukas Podolski for baking him a birthday cake.

The Gunners midfielder turned 23 on New Year's Day, and the England ace took to Instagram to show off the German's handiwork.

He wrote: "Thanks for all the birthday messages! Happy New Year to you all hope 2015 is a good year for us all!! @poldi_official even made me a cake! #Flamini #Wilsh #Poldi #23."

Flanked by Podolski himself and Mathieu Flamini, Wilshere held the cake, which had "happy birthday JW 10" in reference to his squad number iced on to it.

Wilshere is ruled out until February with an ankle injury, while Podolski is heavily linked with a winter move to Inter Milan, with manager Arsene Wenger hinting that there was a breakthrough in negotiations recently.
