Jamaica pip England to netball bronze

England's netball team suffer a second heartbreak in as many days as they narrowly lose the Commonwealth Games bronze-medal match to Jamaica.

Jamaica have won bronze in the Commonwealth Games netball after beating England 52-48 on Sunday morning.

Anna Mayes's side found it hard to edge away from the Jamaicans as they continually fought back before taking a four-goal lead in the final quarter.

Romelda Aitken plundered 44 of their 52 points as England once again suffered disappointment following their last-gasp semi-final defeat to New Zealand on Saturday.

"I'm pretty emotionless at the moment," Geva Mentor told BBC Sport. "I'm proud of this bunch of girls, we achieved a lot, but to not finish it off today, I can't even put it into words. It was brutal out there today, it wasn't how we wanted to finish it off."

Australia meet New Zealand in Sunday's final.
