England beat Canada in lawn bowls fours opener

Team England beat Canada 21-11 in their opening fours lawn bowls match on Thursday morning.

Team England have comfortably beaten Team Canada in their opening match of the women's fours lawn bowls competition by a score of 21-11.

The English flew out of the blocks in the first three ends, winning them by three, two and five respectively to race into a 10-0 lead, which was already looking insurmountable.

Canada stopped the rot with an excellent four in the fourth end and then pulled it back to 10-5 after the fifth end, but that was as close as they were to get.

England were able to set some defensive shots in the remaining ends to slowly increase their lead to 21-9 by the end of the 13th, and although they lost the remaining two ends by one the victory was rarely in doubt in a promising opening match.
