Gemma Gibbons books place in last eight

Team GB's Gemma Gibbons has qualified for the quarter-finals of the women's -78kg judo.

Gibbons won her second-round match against Mongolia's world number seven Lkhamdegd Purevjargal, and she will now face the Netherlands' Marhinde Verkerk for a place in the semi-finals.

Gibbons had earlier defeated Portuguese European bronze medallist Yahima Ramirez in the opening round.
