Team GB's Sally Conway falls to defeat in women's -70kg judo

Great Britain's Sally Conway loses to German Szaundra Diedrich in the women's -70kg judo quarter-final but advances to the bronze repechage.

Great Britain's Sally Conway has lost in the women's -70kg judo quarter-final to Germany's Szaundra Diedrich.

Conway, 28, was on the back foot from the off and lasted just 75 seconds after the German scored with an ippon.

She will still have a chance to take bronze though after advancing to the repechage, where she will face Hungary's Szabina Gercsak, 18.

Diedrich, 22, will now proceed to the semi-finals to face Netherlands judoka Kim Polling.
