Japan's Kaoru Matsumoto has clinched the gold medal in the final of the -73kg final after defeating Romania's Corina Caprioriu.
Matsumoto, who won bronze last year, was the short-price favourite heading into the contest and she started well on the ground against her opponent.
Neither opponent could claim a point by the halfway mark, which added the pressure on Matsumoto, while Caprioriu continued to remain composed.
The Romanian tried to use the counter attack to her advantage but Matsumoto took the first point by grabbing Caprioriu into a hold for 27 seconds. However, her lead didn't last long as the point was rubbed out.
The contest was forced into the three minutes of overtime, known as the 'golden score', but in the end it wasn't necessary following a foul challenge by Caprioriu, who was disqualified.
