Great Britain launch an astonishing fightback to win men's team bronze at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Liverpool.

Great Britain's men's artistic gymnastics team won just their second-ever medal in the event at the World Championships by taking a bronze in Liverpool.

The women's team had already claimed a historic silver in their competition on Tuesday, and the absence of defending champions Russia opened up a new podium spot.

The recognisable Commonwealth Games team of Joe Fraser, James Hall, Jake Jarman, Courtney Tulloch and Giarnni Regini-Moran posted 247.229 to finish third, but a medal was seemingly out of sight at one stage.

An underwhelming pommel horse score meant that GB found themselves down in fourth before taking to the high bar on the final piece of apparatus, having surged up the rankings after finding themselves last at the halfway mark.

The quintet ultimately managed to make it past Italy and the USA into the bronze medal spot, with China (257.858) taking the title as Japan (253.395) won silver.

Fraser - the reigning Commonwealth Games champion on pommel horse - was relieved to see his mistakes on the apparatus count for nought in the end, telling BBC Sport: "I made it very hard for us. I made a lot of errors on pommel and I was doing my best not to let it get to me.

"It makes me really emotional because I knew how hard everyone worked, and I almost thought I'd thrown it away. So to be able to pull it together and come away with the bronze, I could cry. We all made sure that we pulled it together on the apparatus when we needed to."

By finishing on the podium, GB have also sealed their place at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and the World Championships continue on Thursday evening with the women's all-around final.
