Tweddle: 'Interest in gymnastics has grown'

Retired gymnast Beth Tweddle has claimed that interest in UK gymnastics has increased following the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The 29-year-old, who ended her career after clinching Olympic bronze two years ago, is widely considered as the most successful British gymnast of all time.

"Since the Olympics I've seen the interest, including with my own academies, go up massively," Tweddle told the Surrey Herald. "A lot of gym clubs have said their numbers have increased.

"The general vibe about gymnastics in the UK has grown, people are aware of what our results are, and people can actually name British gymnasts now."

Tweddle has won three World Championship titles and six European crowns.
