Baines: 'Injury cost me in artistic all-around'

Team GB gymnast Frank Baines finished the artistic gymnastics all-around with a score of just 14.900 after picking up an injury which prevented him competing in the pommel horse and rings disciplines.

The 19-year-old injured his right wrist in training on Friday, but was able to compete on the floor this morning.

"I injured my right wrist in training two days ago. I partially tore ligaments while training on the high bar, so I wasn't up to do the challenge on pommel horse and on rings," Baines told reporters.

"I only found out that I could do floor here on Saturday night after an MRI scan. I was just happy to come and do a little bit for the team."

Britain's Brinn Bevan and Nile Wilson impressed with scores of 42.765 and 41.699 respectively.
