McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is eager to win the Singapore Grand Prix despite Sebastian Vettel having an almost unassailable world championship lead.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is still looking for victory at this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix despite the drivers' title being all but secured for Sebastian Vettel.

The German is 126 points clear of Hamilton, who is currently in a group of four drivers vying for second that are separated by only 14 points.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso is currently closest to Vettel but is still 112 points behind the world champion, while Vettel's teammate Mark Webber and Jenson Button are also in the hunt for second.

"I'll really be pushing for a good result this weekend," Hamilton said.

"We had a car capable of winning in both Belgium and Italy, so I really want to make sure we arrive in Singapore with a good set-up, and we're able to run with it through practice and qualifying.

"If it all goes to plan, we should be in good shape on Sunday, and even though the title is now almost out of reach I'll be pushing hard for the best possible result."

The Marina Bay circuit race is the 14th Grand Prix of the 2011 season.
