Paul di Resta hoping to make his mark at British Grand Prix

Paul di Resta is ready to make an impact this weekend at Silverstone in his home grand prix.

Paul di Resta has declared his intention to make his mark at this weekend's British Grand Prix.

The 26-year-old Scot is hoping to impress at his home event alongside marquee names Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

"We've outraced Jenson in the last few races, which is encouraging, so hopefully we'll have a chance of doing that again here," Di Resta told BBC Sport. "We've just got to cut out the mistakes."

Di Resta says that Silverstone is the track closest to his heart and he is desperate to do well this weekend.

He said: "Silverstone is the one I want. It would be the icing on the cake. People talk about Monaco and Monza but I'm British and this is the one I want to conquer."

Di Resta's best finish so far this season was sixth in Bahrain.
