Josue leaves Wolfsburg to join Atletico Mineiro

Midfielder Josue has left Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to join Atletico Mineiro in his native Brazil on a two-year deal.

Josue joined Wolfsburg in 2007 and has said that the club where he made a name for himself in Europe will always be "special" to him.

"I'm obviously sad to be leaving Wolfsburg, but this is a big challenge for me and one I'm looking forward to," Bundesliga.com quotes Josue as saying.

"It's been a wonderful time at VfL, with all its ups and downs. This is where I made my breakthrough, and the club will always have a special place in my heart."

Josue has been capped 28 times by Brazil.
