Hodgson in "no rush" to sign Hargreaves

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson says he is in no rush to sign Owen Hargreaves.

The 30-year-old midfielder was released from his contract at Manchester United after persistent injury problems, and has had discussions with the Baggies over a possible move.

"There is no rush on our side. It can take the time it takes," said Hodgson.

"Owen has been out of football totally for a year and last played briefly four years ago. Weeks and days don't make that much difference."

Hargreaves joined United from Bayern Munich in 2007 for £17m, but only managed to make 27 appearances during his spell at Old Trafford.
