James Morrison: 'Saido Berahino should respect West Bromwich Albion'

James Morrison says that Saido Berahino needs to show respect to West Bromwich Albion after the club rejected his attempts to join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.

West Bromwich Albion's James Morrison has urged Saido Berahino to show respect to the club after the striker initially vowed to never play for them again.

The England Under-21 international tried to orchestrate a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur, who had several bids for the player rejected by the Baggies.

After a move failed to materialise, Berahino tweeted that he will go on strike as he does not wish to play under chairman Jeremy Peace.

However, after being given some extended time off, the 22-year-old returned to training with head coach Tony Pulis on Monday.

When asked about Berahino's situation, Morrison told Sky Sports News: "I am sure Tony will have a chat with him. Tony is a good man and he's a wise man as well, he'll guide him through it and I am sure he'll come out the other side.

"I think we do [understand]. You can't knock him for wanting to go to Tottenham, but he should respect the club as they've been with him since a young age."

Berahino made his senior debut for the Baggies in 2010.
