Peter Odemwingie left out of Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations squad

Peter Odemwingie has been left out of Nigeria's squad for next month's Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Bromwich Albion striker has four goals this season, but has not played for his country since February.

Odemwingie, who already has 54 caps for Nigeria, has recently voiced his desire to play international football.

Levante striker Obafemi Martins also misses out, while Chelsea's Victor Moses and Shola Ameobi of Newcastle United are included.

The Cup gets underway on January 19.
