AZ Alkmaar have earned a 2-0 victory over Udinese in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at the AFAS Stadion.
The hosts took the lead on 63 minutes as Maarten Martens fired past Samir Handanovic in the Udinese goal.
The Dutch side's advantage was extended with five minutes to play thanks to Erik Falkenburg's effort.
The return leg in Italy takes place on Thursday, March 15.
