Football rumours from the media

The futures of Christian Eriksen and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are under the spotlight.

What the papers say

Real Madrid have been tipped as possible bidders for Christian Eriksen, with £100million mentioned as a potential offer. According to The Sun the Danish playmaker, 26, is believed to be stalling on signing a new contract with Tottenham – even though Spurs are reportedly prepared to pay him £250,000-a-week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has won over Manchester United's players and they want to keep him as their manager, the Daily Mirror reports. The Norwegian has emulated Sir Matt Busby's historic start to life in the Red hotseat, overseeing victories in his first five matches in all competitions. Spurs' Mauricio Pochettino is said to be the United board's top pick, although the players are reported to be happy with the caretaker.

Sevilla have opened talks with the agent of Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, according to Spanish website Estadio Deportivo. Chelsea are said to be looking for a replacement before allowing the Spain international, who cost the club £60million in 2017,  to go.

Cesc Fabregas' rumoured move to Monaco from Stamford Bridge has hit rocky ground over the transfer fee, the Evening Standard reports. The 31-year-old midfielder has agreed personal terms over a two-and-a-half year contract, the paper says. However the Blues are trying to avoid him leaving for free, despite having just five months left on his contract.
