Sweden reach final by beating Denmark

Sweden Under-21s are through to the final of Euro 2015 thanks to a 4-1 win over Denmark Under-21s.

The Danes dominated the opening 15 minutes and thought they had taken the lead when Youssouf Poulsen powered the ball in from close-range, but the referee ruled that he used his hand to control the ball.

Sweden took advantage of their reprieve as Kiesse Thelin went down in the area under a challenge from Alexander Scholz. The referee awarded a penalty, and John Guidetti stroked it into the back of the net.

Things got worse for Denmark three minutes later as Guidetti's pass was not cut out by the sliding Nicolaj Thomsen, allowing Simon Tibbling to take a touch and coolly slip the ball pass the goalkeeper from 12 yards.

Denmark came close to pulling one back through Poulsen, who flicked a header inches past the post from Rasmus Falk's cross, but Sweden hung on keep their two-goal advantage at the interval.

They came close to extending that lead just after the hour-mark when Tibbling's stinging shot from distance was palmed away by the keeper.

However, minutes later, Denmark pulled one back as Sweden failed to deal with a ball into the box and Uffe Bech finished from a few yards out.

This gave them the momentum, as Jannik Vestergaard and Poulsen went close to equalising, but both were denied by Patrick Carlgren.

Sweden wrapped the game up late on, as Robin Quaison fired the ball into the corner of the net from inside the box, and Oscar Hiljemark bent a fine finish inside the post in injury time.

They will face Portugal Under-21s in the final.
