Man City 'offered Spurs five players in Kane pursuit'

Manchester City reportedly offered five different players to Tottenham Hotspur in part-exchange for Harry Kane, as the Citizens desperately attempted to sign the England captain.

The Manchester club's pursuit of Kane ultimately ended in disappointment, with the striker revealing, via social media, that he would be staying at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to The Athletic, Man City's first approach for the 28-year-old saw Spurs offered the option of signing one of five players in part-exchange.

The report claims that Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, Raheem Sterling, Aymeric Laporte and Riyad Mahrez were all offered to Nuno Espirito Santo's side during negotiations.

The English champions are also believed to have offered £75m for Kane, in addition to a further £25m in add-ons, but Tottenham signalled that they were not prepared to sell at that price.

Man City have instead seemingly switched their attention to Cristiano Ronaldo, and it is understood that the club have now agreed personal terms with the Juventus attacker.
