Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Tottenham injury, suspension list vs. Aston Villa

Tottenham Hotspur will endeavour to build on their first Premier League win from Ryan Mason's second spell as interim head coach when they travel to the West Midlands to tackle Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The Lilywhites eked out a 1-0 success over Crystal Palace in last weekend's London derby thanks to Harry Kane's 209th goal in the English top flight, which saw him overtake Wayne Rooney into second place in the all-time charts.

That narrow victory keeps Tottenham just about alive in the race for Champions League football in sixth spot, six points behind Manchester United having played a game more, but a dissatisfactory result at Villa Park could end their hopes of a top-four finish.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Unai Emery's men, who sit two places and three points worse off than the North London outfit in seventh place.

Hugo Lloris

Status: Out Type of injury: Hip Possible return date: Unknown

Mason confirmed before Spurs' win over Palace that Hugo Lloris's hip injury would sideline him for the remainder of the season, and the captain could very well have played in a Tottenham jersey for the final time amid speculation over a new number one arriving at Hotspur Way this summer.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Likewise, Rodrigo Bentancur will not play again this term either due to the ACL injury he suffered against Leicester City back in February, although the Uruguayan is making steady progress in his rehabilitation.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

The luckless Ryan Sessegnon has been struggling to overcome a hamstring problem for the past several weeks, and the Englishman is also confined to the treatment room for the rest of the season.

Clement Lenglet

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Shoulder Possible return date: May 13 (vs. Villa)

Clement Lenglet was forcibly withdrawn with a shoulder injury in last weekend's success over Palace, but the Barcelona loanee is not believed to have sustained a serious problem and should be available for selection on Saturday.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham have no players suspended for this match.
