Tottenham Hotspur in line for £450m takeover?

Spurs linked with American takeover

Tottenham Hotspur are the reported subject of a £450m takeover by American businessman Philip Anschutz.

Anschutz, owner of entertainment company AEG, is in talks with Spurs' majority shareholder Joe Lewis, according to The Mirror.

Anschutz is believed to want current chairman Daniel Levy to remain at the White Hart Lane and continue the day-to-day running of the club.

AEG also own the O2 Arena and MEN Arena in Manchester, while Anschutz is the current owner of LA Galaxy.

Anschutz has a reported fortune of £4.4 billion.
