Gareth Bale 'returning to the UK today amid transfer rumours'

Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale is reportedly due to return to the UK today, despite flying to Spain last week ahead of a proposed move to Real Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale is reportedly due to return to the UK today, despite flying to Spain last week ahead of a proposed switch to Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old had been pictured arriving at a private airport in Malaga following reports that both parties had agreed an £86m transfer.

However, following the news that Spurs are believed to be considering offers from other clubs for the Welshman, the prolific winger is returning to the UK, according to Sky Sports News.

It has been suggested that a switch to Madrid was close following images of a presentation stage being built at the Bernabeu.
